In the store: More Wormley chairs

As if the six Edward Wormley dining chairs we have in the store weren't enough, we now have four more gorgeous chairs designed by Wormley for Dunbar. These elegantly styled armchairs have woven backs and are in excellent original condition.

  1. Hi... you've got a great blog and I hate to spoil the party but these chairs are not by Wormley or Dunbar; instead by Grand Ledge Chair Company. See the article 'The Many Lives of One Beautiful Chair' House Beautiful January 1954 where the virtues of this chair are extolled to no end replete with images. It is a fine design and I can easily understand why it is all too often confused for Dunbar.

    1. If you found this online and have a link, I'd love to see it.

  2. Here is a link to an ebay listing that shows the chair is not by Wormley/Dunbar. (Look at the very last image in the listing; it's a scan of that House Beautiful article.)

    1. Thanks for that documentation. I'll have to share this information with my son-in-law. He owns the store and IDs the furniture, and he's usually right on the money, but it looks like this one got by him.
